Biography
Taryn Packheiser dances professionally with Fellow Travelers Performance Group, Hurley & Dancers, and Co-motion Dance Theater. She has performed in major works by Gabriel Masson, Joe Goode, Bebe Miller, David Parsons and Paul Taylor. Her past company credits include Third Law Dance Theatre, 2B Dance Tribe, Nich-Walk Dance Project, Urban Impact, Elinor Coleman Dance Ensemble, Montage Showcase Ensemble, and the Greensboro Ballet.
Currently she is on faculty at Iowa State University where she has taught Modern I, II, III, Ballet I, II, III, Jazz I, II, Teaching Children's Dance, Dance Composition, and Sound & Movement. Taryn's teaching background includes guest artist residencies at Vanderbilt University, Danza Abend, Universidad de Heredia, Greensboro Ballet, High Point Ballet, The Pointe Academy, Taylor Dance Academy, Ankeny Dance Inc, and Rocky Mountain Festivention. Packheiser's education includes Bates Dance Festival, American Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival, North Carolina School of the Arts Summer Session, and Southwest Guilford High School's Performing Arts Program.
She received her Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts.
